Last week Associate Professor Mark Rickman was teaching on a pelvic fracture course in Hamburg, Germany. This was the eighth time the European Pelvic Fracture Course has been held in Hamburg, and the sixth time Mark has been invited to be part of the faculty. The 4 day course is the best attended pelvic trauma course in Europe, and consists of lectures, discussion groups and anatomical cadaver sessions. It is attended by established orthopaedic consultants from all over Europe and the Middle East. As one of the best known Orthopaedic pelvic trauma surgeons in Australia, Mark regularly teaches on pelvic courses, and in the last year has taught on similar courses in America and the U.K.
As well as being an opportunity to educate the future generations of pelvic trauma surgeons, courses like this offer a chance for the international faculty, which is made up of world renowned orthopaedic surgeons, to discuss cases, exchange views, and talk about research ideas.
